Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 23, 2026

Who we are

Sparkled Skies is a small home business in Calgary, Alberta. We make the Cancer Care Sparklebox, and sell birchwood prints, lightbulbs and stands. Stephanie Kincaide is responsible for privacy here. If you have any question about your information, email stephanie@sparkledskies.com.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need to look after you and your order.

  • When you order: your name, email, billing and shipping address, phone number if you give it, and what you bought. We use this to fill your order, arrange shipping or pickup (pickup is at Congress Coffee Shop in Calgary), send receipts and updates, and keep the records the law requires.

  • When you email us or use our "Get In Touch" form or site chat: your name, email, phone if you add it, and your message, so we can reply.

  • When you create an account: your login email and any profile details you add, so you can see your orders and addresses and take part in comments and community pages.

  • When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address, so we can send you news.

  • When you visit: basic technical details such as your browser, device and pages viewed, collected by our website platform so the site works, stays secure, and so we can see in general how it is used.

Your health information

We never ask for health information. If you choose to tell us something personal, for example in a gift message or in the optional "What would you say to others..." box on the Sparklebox page, we keep it private and use it only to prepare your order. We will only share your words publicly, like as a testimonial, if you give us your permission first.

Payments

Payments are handled by Wix's secure checkout and our payment processor, Square. We never see or store your full card number. Square handles it under its own privacy policy.

Cookies and analytics

Our site runs on Wix, which uses cookies (small files saved in your browser) to keep the site working, remember your cart and login, and count visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, like the cart, may not work. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Our newsletter

We only add you to our newsletter if you choose to sign up. At checkout, the newsletter box is unticked, so you are not signed up unless you tick it yourself. If you order from us, we will still email you about your order, such as receipts, pickup or shipping details, and updates. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we will take you off the list.

Who we share with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the store: Wix (our website, store and email platform), our payment processor, Square, and Canada Post when we ship your order. They may use it only to provide their service to us.

Where your information is stored

Wix and our payment processor, Square, may store or process information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. When that happens, the laws of those countries apply, and authorities there may be able to access it. Email us if you would like to know more.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as tax law requires (generally six years). We keep messages only as long as we need them to help you. Newsletter emails stay on our list until you unsubscribe. After that, we delete information we no longer need.

Seeing, correcting or deleting your information

You can ask to see the information we have about you, correct it, or delete it, by emailing stephanie@sparkledskies.com. We will reply within 30 days. We may need to keep some order records the law requires. If you are not happy with how we handled your request, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Children

Our site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date.
